It's then going to home and count the distance in XY from the position you mechanically moved to until it hits the endstop and then writes that offset to EEPROM.
What that script is going to do is have you move the extruders manually so that the RIGHT nozzle is directly over top of the X that you just drew on the bed to mark center. Basically always back up your settings from a known value before you attempt to change anything. #2 Either use the LCD menu or Replicator-G to note the existing homing and toolhead offsets. If that not true, make a note of where the nozzle is near the corner when homed and use that point as the corner when drawing the X. Now that assumes that the nozzles can reach all spots on the bed. #1 Take a ruler or straight edge and draw a line from corner to corner on the bed so that you get a cross in the middle. If you are running real genuine Sailfish firmware, then you can use the built in script in Sailfish Replicator-G to properly set your actual homing offsets for a true center.

Thus, your homing offset for Y is probably not correct, so not only is Y never able to reach the full bed, but due to an improper homing offset, you get even less due to a centering issue.
You need some safety margin that you can NEVER hit an endstop during a print.īasically, your advertised build volume in Y is not mechanically or logically reachable in many printers. All that area at the back of the bed is NOT reachable.įurther, during a print, if you hit an endstop, you will lose position and distance. The nozzles are often still over the bed when the Y axis is homed. The problem stems from the Replicator Dual from which your printer is derived. S3D is producing centered gcode, and while you can offset it, you defeat the entire purpose of having homing offsets stored in the printer's EEPROM.
Your homing offsets in firmware are what sets the logical center 0 system up on the printer.
